«Intersticios» es el título de la primera exposición individual de Piero Maturana presentada en Montana Gallery Barcelona.
La palabra Intersticio hace referencia a distancias íntimas; puede hacer referencia entre la distancia entre las diferentes partes del cuerpo, o entre dos cuerpos distintos… O incluso a la distancia existente entre diferentes tiempos y lugares.
Partiendo de éste concepto, el artista chileno nos presenta una muestra intimista de retratos anónimos en la que éste concepto de distancia se nos muestra tanto en la representación de los cuerpos de los protagonistas, compuestos a base de diferentes segmentos, como del contexto de los cuadros, más insinuado mediante formas que mostrado explícitamente.
Mediante éstas formas se nos sugiere un rítmo: Cuando no es mediante el órden de formas y colores empleados, el artista directamente emplea el concepto de viñeta o fotograma en la obra, añadiendo nuevas capas de significado.

Starting from this concept, the Chilean artist presents us with an intimate sample of anonymous portraits in which this concept of distance is shown to us both in the representation of the bodies of the protagonists, composed of different segments, and in the context of the paintings. , more hinted by forms than shown explicitly.
Through these forms a rhythm is suggested to us: When it is not through the order of shapes and colors used, the artist directly uses the concept of vignette or frame in the work, adding new layers of meaning.
